PhD student Stephanie Gazda continues her research on the dolphins of Cedar Key this summer. Find out what she has learned about them. 5:00 PM upstairs at the library.
10th Cycle For Education

10th Cedar Key Yard & Pond Tour
The Cedar Key Yard and Pond Tour will meet at the Cedar Key Community Center (6th & F St.) at 10:30 a.m. on Sat. 10 April. There will be handouts with the attached map showing the locations of the subject yards. From the Community Center the tour will start at the 1 location, Young/Weese property on Jernigan. Then will procede to `s 2-5, ending at the Treat`s on 7th St., around the corner from the Community Center, so if some of you want to share a ride, it should work out well.
10th Shark Research

17th 9:00AM Butterfly Walk and more......
A variety of habitats can make for a butterfly bonanza! We`ll explore the wetter habitats along the marshes and deeper forests at the south end, with a good chance to see owls, then drier pine flatwoods near the north entrance. Meet 9 a.m., south entrance of the loop road, Nature Drive, Gate 9. We`ll explore all day. Web Site below for directions.

24th to 25th Old Florida Celebration of the Arts
This 2 day event is one of the finest juried art shows in the State of Florida. There will be food for sale by various civic organizations, and music in the park. Artists will display their work along 2nd Street. It is also an opportunity to see and support some of our own Cedar Key Artists.

1st to 2nd 9:00AM Cedar Key`s Small Boat Festival
Handcrafted wooden boats of all kinds, Sailboats and many other types launch from the sandspit on 1st and G Streets. There are boats of all kinds and styles, beautiful and fun is had by all! Please visit Cedar Key and enjoy the show.
29th 8:00 PM Movies in the Park Twelve O`Clock High
This showing of 1949 Oscar Winning Film, Twelve O`Clock High with Gregory Peck and Dean Jagger is a great way to start your Memorial Weekend Celebration. No refreshments will be served so bring a cooler or whatever you enjoy, a comfy seat and enjoy this epic film that includes original WW II scenes of a daring day raid over Germany and shows the bravery and honor required to defend our freedoms. This show is being sponsored by The Island Hotel. Wear your Red, White & Blue colors!

4th CLAMERICA sponsored by the Cedar Key Aquaculture Assoc.
Clamerica is a "don`t miss" event in Cedar Key starting at 10:30AM with the Flag Raising and the Parade will follow at 11:00AM. There will be activities in the Park for all ages, Clam cook off, and the evening will end with a Fireworks display put on by the Cedar Key Fire Department!

10th Lighthouse Open House
Free open house 9-4 at the Seahorse Key Lighthouse at Cedar Key in the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge.
21st 7:00 PM BlueGrass by Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike
Enjoy bluegrass music at its` best, performed by an energetic and electrifying Valerie Smith and Liberty Park beginning at 7:00 PM for $10.00 per person. Free admission for children under 12. 18th to 27th Hidden Coast Paddling Festival
The first annual Hidden Coast Paddling Festival "kicks off" in Cedar Key with special events in the park, kayak demos, paddling tours, kayak fishing tournament, The paddling festival will work its’ way up the coast and conclude the following weekend in Steinhatchee, as it heads north on our pristine coastline with special events in communities that lie in between. The Cedar Key events are hosted by our Cedar Key Chamber of Commerce!
